This is how the line continues after the demise of the Newport males and
how an extinct title came to be again.
14. The Honourable Anne Newport, daughter of Richard Newport and Mary Wilbraham, married Sir Orlando Bridgeman, 4th Baronetcy, son of Sir John Bridgeman, 3rd Baronetcy and Ursula Matthews, on 9 April 1719. He succeeded to the titles of 5th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster) on the 25 July 1764 and he was created 1st Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 13 August 1794.
15. Sir Orlando Bridgeman. Born 19 Mar 1762, died 7 Sep 1825. He married
Hon. Lucy Elizabeth Byng, daughter of George Byng, 4th Viscount Torrington
and Lady Lucy Boyle, on 29 May 1788.
On 18 April 1762 he inherited the estate of Weston from his uncle, Thomas
Newport, 4th Earl of Bradford. The Bradford title held by his mother's
family was revived when he was raised to the peerage as Baron Bradford,
of Bradford in the County of Shropshire. He succeeded to the titles of
6th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 2nd Baron Bradford
of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 5 June 1800. On the 30 November 1815,
he was created 1st Earl of Bradford (Shropshire) and the1st Viscount Newport
(Shropshire).
16. Sir George Augustus Frederick Henry Bridgeman, 2nd Earl of Bradford. Born 23 Oct 1789, died 22 Mar 1865. He married, firstly, Georgina Elizabeth Moncreiffe, daughter of Sir Thomas Moncreiffe of Moncreiffe, 5th Baronetcy and Lady Elisabeth Ramsay, on 5 March 1818. He succeeded to the titles of 7th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 2nd Viscount Newport (Shropshire), the 2nd Earl of Bradford (Shropshire) and the 3rd Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 7 September 1825.
17. Sir Orlando George Charles Bridgeman. Born 24 Apr 1819, died 9 Mar 1898. He married Hon. Selina Louisa Forester, daughter of Cecil Weld-Forester, 1st Baron Forester of Willey Park and Lady Katherine Mary Manners, on 30 April 1844. He succeeded to the titles of 8th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 3rd Earl of Bradford (Shropshire), 4th Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire), 3rd Viscount Newport (Shropshire) on 22 March 1865.
18. Sir George Cecil Orlando Bridgeman. Born 3 Feb 1845, died 2 Jan 1915. He married Lady Ida Frances Annabella Lumley, daughter of Richard George Lumley, 9th Earl of Scarbrough and Frederica Mary Adeliza Drummond, on 7 September 1869. He succeeded to the titles of 9th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 4th Earl of Bradford (Shropshire), 4th Viscount Newport (Shropshire), 5th Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire) on 9 March 1898.
19. Sir Orlando Bridgeman. Born 6 Oct 1873, died 21 Mar 1957. He married Hon. Margaret Cecilia Bruce, daughter of Major Henry Campbell Bruce, 2nd Baron Aberdare of Duffryn and Constance Mary Beckett, on 21 July 1904. He succeeded to the titles of 10th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 6th Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire), 5th Viscount Newport (Shropshire), 5th Earl of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 2 January 1915.
20. Sir Gerald Michael Orlando Bridgeman. Born 29 Sep 1911, died 30 Aug 1981. He married Mary Willoughby Montgomery, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Hassard Montgomery, on 31 October 1946. He succeeded to the titles of 11th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 6th Viscount Newport (Shropshire), 6th Earl of Bradford (Shropshire), 7th Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 21 March 1959.
21. Sir Richard Thomas Orlando Bridgeman. Born 3 Oct 1947 -. He married Joanne Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Benjamin Miller, on 15 September 1979. He succeeded to the titles of 12th Baronet Bridgeman, of Great Lever (Lancaster), 7th Earl of Bradford (Shropshire), 7th Viscount Newport (Shropshire), 8th Baron Bradford of Bradford (Shropshire) on the 30 August 1981.
