Index to field mapsThe following maps are traced images taken from various sources and are not to scale. The original images are available from the Shropshire Archives, British History online, Ordnance Survey and others, these are more accurate and contain detailed information on them. 1840s Ercall Magna Fields
map is made up using field maps from around 1830 - 1850 with
the boundary based on the 2007 defined area. Shows the rough layout of
the housing. 2000 Ercall Magna Fields map is made up using OS maps from around 2000 with the boundary based on the 2007 defined area. 2000 Ercall Magna Fields map this includes footpaths and is made up using OS maps from around 2000 with the boundary based on the 2007 defined area. 1831 map of the Bradford Hundred. This has got an 1839 field map of the part of Ercall Magna I am covering within it. The Bradford map shows the location of Bradford which can be seen towards the bottom of the field map. 1839 / 1831 Fields map This is an enlargement of the area on the map above and shows slightly better where the location of Bradford was from the first map (not on the original field map). This is close to the bridge over the river Roden where the court sessions were possibly held. 1940s Ercall Fields map is again of the area of Ercall Magna that I am covering. This shows the impact that World War 2 had on the area. The Airfield can be seen with its 3 runways but also seen is the extent that the area was used with its dispersed sites all over the place. |
