High Ercall Primary School

This is an image from a Wilding postcard of the side of the School. Probably taken around the 1930s.

PC/H/16/13 - "The Schools - High Ercall"

Me at the back of the School in about 1968. This door led into a cloak room.
April 2007, this is the old School. Attached to the left is the School house which is now a private dwelling. As the school numbers increased with the building developments in the late 1960s early 1970s a port-a-cabin school room was placed on the playground at the back of the flat roofed extension, (which was the kitchen). The field to the right of the playing field was purchased and a new building erected in about 1971/2.
Shows the date that the School was erected, this is on the chimney and can be seen in the photo above. Although according to the 1891 Kellys Directory it apparently started its educational use in 1860, although I believe this to be incorrect.
