This memorial stone stands on the road side wall
of the New Vicarage and after uncovering it I managed to make out
the following:
THESE 3 LIME TREES
WERE PLANTED
ON OCTOBER 28 1897
IN COMMEMORATION OF
LORD AND LADY BARNARDS
FIRST VISIT TO SHROPSHIRE
UPON SUPERCEEDING TO THE SHROPSHIRE ESTATES
OF THE LATE DUKE OF CLEVELAND
THE SOUTHERN TREE WAS PLANTED BY LORD BARNARD
THE EAST TREE BY LADY BARNARD
THE WEST TREE BY THE HON M GILBERT VANE
These 3 Lime trees stand in the grounds to the right
of the New Vicarage.
